Some writers have made up their own stories about fairies. The Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen wrote several volumes of stories from 1835 until his death in 1875. Inn one tale “Little Tiny” the main character springs from a little flower. The Italian writer Carlo Colloda wrote “Pinocchio” 1883, a famous children’s novel that has a fairy character. “Peter Pan” 1904, a popular children’s play by the English writer Sir James M. Barrie, has a number of fairies, including one of the main characters.
